On the weekend of November 11-13, 2011, Sherlock Holmes fans and film fans will gather at Indiana University for a major film festival celebrating the detective's exploits on stage, screen, television, and radio.
"Sherlock's dramatic career is impressive," says Steven Doyle, of Wessex Press, the book publishing imprint sponsoring the conference. "For instance, no other character in fiction has been adapted more often for the big screen than Sherlock Holmes. At last count there have been over 250 films featuring the Great Detective."From Gillette to Brett III will feature rare Sherlockian films, movie memorabilia and book vendors, and a star-studded, international roster of speakers, presenters, and events, including the 35th Anniversary Screening of The Seven-Per-Cent Solution, hosted by Nicholas Meyer.The conference will be held on the beautiful campus of Indiana University at the Indiana Memorial Union.
