Audiences are hungry for more of the generous helpings of laughs served up daily by the Church Basement Ladies at Beef & Boards Dinner Theatre.

In an effort to satisfy, Beef & Boards had added another show after already expanding the run to meet demand.

A final matinee show has been added on Saturday, Sept. 4. This will be the last chance for audiences to get a taste of this great musical comedy.

Church Basement Ladies, the show that celebrates the church basement kitchen and the dedicated women who work there, is making its debut this summer at Beef & Boards Dinner Theatre. These four devoted women do their best to organize food, fend off potential disasters, debate recipes, keep the pastor on due course and try to solve the problems of their changing rural Minnesota church in 1964.

Based on the Scandinavian Lutheran humor writings of Janet Martin and Suzann Nelson, authors of "Growing Up Lutheran," the women of Church Basement Ladies are familiar and down-to-earth characters who can be found in any denomination. Together they tackle both food and food for thought while managing a record-breaking Christmas dinner, the funeral of a dear friend, a HawaiIan Easter fundraiser and a hot July wedding.

Still cookin' from the show's national tour are Karen Pappas as Mavis, Katherine Proctor as Karin and Lisa Bark as the young bride-to-be, Signe. Licia Watson also stars as Vivian, the matriarch of the kitchen, with Beef & Boards favorite Eddie Curry as Pastor E.L. Gunderson.

Pull up a chair to enjoy Church Basement Ladies in Beef & Boards' intimate setting. Tickets range from $35 to $58, and include a church basement-worthy buffet, with a fruit & salad bar, unlimited coffee, tea and lemonade. Parking is free.

For reservations, call the Beef & Boards Box Office at 317.872.9664. Box office hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays.

Church Basement Ladies is sponsored in part by Indianapolis Woman magazine.
