CCP Stages CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF, Begins 2/11

Carmel Community Players will present Tennessee Williams' timeless play Cat On a Hot Tin Roof during a two-week run beginning February 11, 2010 at the Carmel Community Playhouse at Clay Terrace. William's play won the Pulitzer Prize in 1954 and is the second show in CCP's 2009-10 Pulitzer Prize-winning Season.

Williams' play, directed by R. Brian Noffke and produced by Michael T. Long, is about a plantation family celebrating the 65th birthday of Big Daddy, but the mood is somber. Greed, sins of the past and desperate hopes are brought to the forefront as the knowledge that Big Daddy is dying slowly makes the rounds. By evening's end, Maggie, the daughter-in-law, tries to save her marriage and set things right with her husband Brick and hopefully save him from himself and his family.

Cat On a Hot Tin Roof opens February 11, 2010 at the Carmel Community Playhouse at Clay Terrace (www.carmelplayhouse.com) and runs through February 21st. Performances are at 8:00 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 2:30 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for students/seniors. The Carmel Community Playhouse at Clay Terrace is the new home of Carmel Community Players, Carmel's oldest community theater group.
