Buck Creek Players, the award-winning all volunteer community theater on Indianapolis' southeast side, is seeking assistance to honor the memory of Jack Peek. As part of the third biannual Buck Creek Players Play-A-Part Fundraiser production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's classic Broadway musical, The Sound of Music, BCP is seeking financial assistance as part of a group sponsorship that will be billed as "The Friends of Jack Peek."
Jack, an active Buck Creek Players member, volunteered both at BCP and numerous other theaters throughout the state as Technical Director, Set Builder, President, and Head of Facilities. A major contributor for Buck Creek's transition from their previous home on Acton Road to their current location, Jack was also recognized for his lifetime achievements in community theater as a recipient of the Encore Association's E. Edward Green Award. Jack helped to shape the history of Buck Creek Players and his hard work and efforts are still recognized on a daily basis to both the volunteers and visitors to The Playhouse. To remember, recognize, and continue his work, Buck Creek Players is seeking help from donors to become a "Friend of Jack Peek" by donating any amount possible. The goal of the "Friends" is to raise half of the production's budget (or $2,000) to help defray costs of producing the musical.
