2011 Concert Series in the State Park Announces Lineup

Gospel, history storytelling, and Civil War music will be the featuring themes for Lincoln Amphitheatre's three-date concert series in June.

The 2011 Concert Series in the State Park line up:

A Gospel Music Gathering: Sunday, June 5 at 2 p.m. CDT. The concert will include four musical groups/performers---Cheri Taylor, The Wilson Family, the New Heritage Trio, and the Shepherdsmen Quartet. Tickets are $8 per person and $7 per person in group of ten or more.

Abraham Lincoln in Song: Sunday, June 12 at 5 p.m. CDT. Singer Chris Vallillo and Grammy nominated percussionist Rocky Maffit will tell the history of Abraham Lincoln's life through music. This performance has been endorsed by the National Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission. Pre-show will begin at 5 p.m. CDT with the Evansville Square Dancers Association. Abraham Lincoln in Song will begin at 6 p.m. CDT. Ticket pricing is a suggested $5 donation.

Community Concert in the Park: Saturday, June 25 at 6 p.m. CDT. Members from the Spencer County Community Band and the Old Dam Community Band of Newburgh will perform Civil War and American Band favorites. Ticket pricing is a suggested $5 donation.

A $5 in-state and a $7 out-of-state per car gate fee apply to enter Lincoln State Park.

Lincoln Amphitheatre's 2011 season includes "Classic Family Films Series," "Concert Series in a State Park," and two summer productions--The Wizard of Oz" and "Our American Cousin." "The Wizard of Oz" will take the stage July 21 - August 7, Thursday to Saturday evenings with a Sunday matinee. "Our American Cousin" will run August 19 - August 27, Friday and Saturday evenings with a Sunday matinee. The 2011 "Lincoln's Legacy Lives" fundraising campaign is underway to support the expansion of family-friendly and affordable events at Lincoln Amphitheatre.

Tickets for all 2011 events at Lincoln Amphitheatre are currently on sale to the public.
