Review: RUSSIAN FILM FESTIVAL Gathers Great Response In India  ImageFor those of us who thought that give Indians Bollywood and they are happy, the just concluded Russian Film Festival in the country came out as an eye-opener of sorts.

The festival titled Russian Film Days, now in its fourth edition saw an enthusiastic participation from the audiences. The event that was a part of cultural events at the Russia-India Annual Summit that took place earlier this month.

So, for four days, an enthusiastic stream of audiences in cities across the country enjoyed classic and cult Russian movies. The event began with the showcase of a movie title, 'The Last Trial, ' which effectively showed the hostage situation in spine-chilling reality. Apart from Delhi the other two cities that played host to the event were Pune and Mumbai.

Mumbai despite being the hotbed of Bollywood activities showed that there certainly is a willing audience to enjoy varied mediums of entertainment. The opening ceremony in Delhi was also attended by Russian ambassador to India, Nikolay Kudashev. The star cast of the movie The Last Trial also attended the inaugural event.

Some of the other movies that managed to move the audiences and also received positive reviews from the critics included Ice, Spacewalkers, The Last Warrior, Sheep and Wolves and cinema series Gogol.

By bringing an important cultural aspect of another country through the medium of movies, the audience get a chance to discover and explore the communities in other parts of the globe. The event managed to achieve all this and much more. According to many from the entertainment industry in India, who attended the event, the cultural exchange also showed how it will be even more eventful to have a cross cultural or crossover film showcasing bits from both countries.
