Review: DRAMA DHAMAAL TO ENTERTAIN THE AUDIENCE at World Theatre Day  ImageSome of the biggest names in Indian theatre -- Rajeshwari Sachdev, Rajit Kapur, Varun Badola, Zafar Karachiwala, Kunaal Roy Kapur, Jim Sarbh, Faezeh Jalali and many many more will come together for a night of a one-of-its-kind performance.

The occasion is World Theatre Day and the stage lovers of Mumbai are all set to entertain the city with an evening of specially written plays. It is going to be a celebration of the theatre peppered with song, stand up and dance. All the pieces are connected to the theatre and the stage including auditions, opening night jitters, backstage shenanigans, giving the audiences a feel of all that goes inside the making of a stage play. Titled Drama Dhamaal, the evening is conceptualized by Rage and supported by the National Centre for Performing Arts.

March 27, is celebrated as Theatre Day around the world, so keeping up the tradition in Mumbai about 50 artists get together for an entertaining night of plays, monologues, songs, dance, stand up and felicitations. Interestingly, the performances not only will cross genres but also languages. So there will be a smattering of Hindi, English, Marathi and Gujarati, giving one a feel of composite Indian theatre experience.

The artists who forme the core of this unique experience are -- Akarsh Khurana, Anadi Nagar, Anahita Uberoi, Anuvab Pal, Bomi Dotiwala, Bhavna Pani, Burjor Patel, Chaitnya Sharma, Danesh Irani, Danesh Khambata, Deepal Doshi, Dheer Hira, Dilshad Edibam, Faezeh Jalali, Gerson daCunha, Geetanjali Kulkarni, Jim Sarbh, Kashin Shetty, Kaustav Sinha, Keith Sequeira, Kunaal Roy Kapur, Kathryn Doshi, Lauren Robinson, Mansi Multani, Meher Mistry, Mehrzad Patel, Mohit Takalkar, Muskkaan Jaferi, Niharika Lyra Dutt, Quasar Thakore Padamsee, Rahul DaCunha, Rajeshwari Sachdev, Rajit Kapur, Rohini Ramnathan, Ruby Patel, Rytasha Rathore, Salome Rebello, Sandesh Kulkarni, Sheena Khalid, Shernaz Patel, Siddharth Kumar, Sonali Kulkarni, Utkarsh Mazumdar, Vikrant Dhote, Varun Badola, Zafar Karachiwala.

All in all, the organizers believe that the audiences will be blown away by the unexpected presentation. With a cast like that we are sure we can have more of such performances!
