Review: AWARD WINNING PLAY ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM is Going Strong After Completing 50 Shows  ImageEvery once in a while, there comes a show that manages to make a lasting impression on the audiences. Whether it by virtue of its extraordinary story-telling or a compelling cause that it portrays with conviction, a theatre performance that manages to run for packed audiences in India, definitely has a subject that manages to strike a chord.

Elephant in the Room, true to its title has been garnering enough attention amongst the lovers of theatre in India for some time now. Elephant in the room starring Yuki Elias is an English language solo theatre performance that takes us on a mind-boggling journey of a young man in search of his missing head. The performance manages to stir emotions amongst the viewers as one finds various eccentricities as well as twists and turns wrapped in the plot.

The story begins with, Master Tusk, a boy who has been given a new head -- but it's no ordinary head, it is an elephant's head. Coiled up with his own emotions and bewildered he is left in a jungle where he needs to fight a new battle at every step. He encounters a makdi and a pocher. Amongst various toils and troubles the boy must find his missing head. But more importantly his experiences would go on to decide if he can survive with his new head. Part fantastical, part philosophical, the play with its underlying messages gives us a glimpse into our own lives. If you would want to reflect and are looking for a meaningful few hours to spend do check out the play that has successfully completed 50 shows!

Winner of 3 Meta Awards and part of the official India@UK2017 showcase at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, 'Elephant in the Room' is a quirky, poignant coming of age story, inspired by the myth of the Lord Ganapathi. It's a performance you will enjoy.
