While the world is glued in to watch winter Olympics taking place in Korea, for theatre lovers in India, there is an onstage Olympics awaiting them.
For the very first time, India is all set to host the biggest theatre event. The 8th edition of Theatre Olympics will see participation from 30 countries and a varied series of performances will be spread across the country.
The events kicks off in New Delhi on February 17 and will be inaugurated by the vice president of India, Mr Venkaiah Naidu. No less than 25,000 artists from around the world will participate in the event, masking it the biggest theatre spectacle to watch out for.
The event is held by the prestigious National School of Drama, under the aegis of Ministry of Culture. The theme of this years' event is - Flag of Friendship.
The Theatre Olympics was first established in Greece, back in 1993. The most awaited theatre event is being eagerly looked forward to.
