BWW Previews: THE PAPA CJ HAPPINESS PROJECT at Kamani Auditorium, Delhi

If you believe in spreading smiles especially to those who deserve it the most then this may an event you would mark on your calendars. Famous stand-up comedian Papa CJ has launched The Papa CJ Happiness Project; an initiative where he will be hosting fundraising shows across the country for charitable causes. The first leg of the project is slated to kick off on 19th May 2017 in New Delhi. The event in aid of Picture Wala, a not-for-profit foundation that travels to different parts of the country in order to entertain thousands of children living on streets and in slums, leading a less than perfect childhood. The mission remains to introduce them to culture and meaningful entertainment through the mediums of cinema, art, sports, food, music, theatre and comedy.

In this noble effort, the comedian will perform for free to raise money for a wide range of charities across India. Papa CJ shares, "I've always believed that I'm in the happiness business and not in the comedy business. My genuine motivation is seeing the joy on people's faces. And recently it struck me as to why am I not doing shows which raise finance and impact people in need - the Happiness Project was the solution to this question."

The premier fundraiser will take place in New Delhi (Kamani Auditorium) and will be raising funds to help Picture Wala expand operations and reach more children across the Capital.

Apart from Papa CJ as the main act of the evening, there is a lot to look forward to at this evening of comedy and music. The opening act for the evening is by Nik & Nat of BollyJazz, a Delhi based ensemble presenting Indian cinema tunes in contemporary formats partially following jazz traditions, which will be followed with stand up acts by rising stars in the comedy circuit, Pooja Vijay and Shivam Lakhanpal.

The Papa CJ Happiness Project will travel from New Delhi to Bhubaneswar, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Pune, Jaipur and Vadodara in support of a range of different causes including women empowerment, child education & welfare and animal welfare.
