Happily ever afters aren't as easy as the stories would make you believe, and Aadyam's latest play knows just why. After a jazz-noir thriller, Detective Nau-Do-Gyarah and a heartwarming tale of rural India's dreams Hello Farmaaish comes Aadyam's third play of this season, as different from the previous two as can be!

Jab Khuli Kitaab, written and directed by Saurabh Shukla, takes you through the struggle of a couple, happy in their marriage, who are suddenly confronted with the murky chapter they thought had long passed them. Even after fifty-five years of marriage, Gopal is deeply in love with his ailing wife, Anusuya - until he finds out about her affair from fifty-four years ago! Their comfortable life is thrown upside down, and Gopal no longer knows what to think, or how to look at his beloved wife again. Just when things seem like they could not get better, Gopal and Anusuya discover that it is never too late for a second chance at happiness.

Directed by Saurabh Shukla, a National Award-winning actor who has played diverse roles from Bandit Queen to Barfi!, from Satya to Slumdog Millionaire, this is his third play, after the hugely successful 'Two to Tango' and 'Barff', which have toured nationally and internationally to great acclaim. Also featuring Irawati Harshe Mahadev, Danish Hussain, Jyoti Kapoor, Ravi Mahashabde, and Kapil Kumar among others, music composition and live singing by Ritajaya Banerjee, Jab Khuli Kitaab brings together a variety of talents onto a single platform.

All of this is brought together on stage by Aadyam, the Aditya Birla Group's initiative for theatre, bringing the best theatre to audiences across the country! Now in its fourth year, Aadyam has consistently proved itself to be the forerunner in producing innovative and engaging theatre, that charms the hearts of new and regular audiences alike. Taking forward its theme of 'Going Alive', this season covers all aspects of the human condition, putting forth stories that are as real as they are inventive.

With its third play of the season, which is equal parts funny and touching, this family drama-comedy is bound to take you on a roller coaster of emotions, but leave you feeling warm and full of love at the end. Jab Khuli Kitaab, on one hand, is the story of destruction and on the other hand, is the hopeful possibility of a fresh start! A love story for all ages, this play promises to be a memorable evening out at the theatre for the whole family.
