BWW Previews: META AWARD WINNING MALAYALAM PLAY NONA COMES TO MUMBAI

Nona -- the Malayalam play that managed to sweep many award categories at the the 13th Mahindra Excellence in Theatre Awards (META 2018) including Best Play, Best Director, Best Stage Design, and Best Light Design will now be staged in Mumbai. Directed by famous playwright Jino Joseph Nona is a socio-political satirical play. The play is a collective project with non-professional actors set against the backdrop of social stratification and pseudo-nationalism impacting Indian society today.

It will be staged in Mumbai on the 28th of July at 7 PM at Tata Theatre as an NCPA Presentation. The director Jino Joseph who had also scripted, designed and directed the Malayalam play Matthi, which won most of the awards at META 2015 along with The Kerala Sahitya Academy award for best drama in 2015. The storyline set against a rural backdrop explores the story of one Govindan. The story talks about how Govindan's son Prasanth makes a deceitful project about the map of India which eventually leads to a dispute amongst the neighbors. The conniving plot however is exposed with the help of Govindan and there is peace and accord once again.
