The NCPA Theatre Season 2018-19 which is aimed at giving the local presentations a chance to find discerning audiences and also to showcase world theatre on stage will be showing an Australian production to culminate its theatre season.
Australian play, Emil and the Detectives will be showcased at the Experimental Theatre in NCPA in January. The thoughtful production can be described as a great choice for concluding the festival, as the play appeals to audiences of all ages. While during the holiday season, kids get to impart important lessons such as trusting and taking risks for adults the play is masterful discovery of self.
The play follows the story of a young hero named Emil, who leaves his rural home to visit family in a shiny, big city. On the way, misfortune happens and Emil discovers himself with a group of children who try to unearth crime.
The play is captivating and is based on a novel by Eric Kastner written back in 1929. The story has been adapted into a play that has won many critical accolades.
Talking about the relevance of the chosen play to draw curtains to the Theatre festival,
NCPA chairman Mr. Khushroo Suntook says "Emil and the Detectives is a wonderful pick to conclude our Theatre Season. The play is sure to entertain and educate children about how to work independently, correct their errors and find solutions. By collaborating with the Australian Festival, the NCPA has managed to bring down this engaging play that will be enjoyed by all."
