After enthralling the performing art lovers in Goa, now it is the turn of capital city Delhi to witness some interdisciplinary art performances. Serendipity Arts Festival, an interdisciplinary arts festival, organized by the Serendipity Arts Trust, will be held at Bikaner House for 11 days, from April 6 to 16, 2017. The Delhi edition of the famous event will comprise of a theatre performance, a story telling session, a dance performance and a photography exhibition.
Showcased at the festival that has been curated keeping in mind all the essentials that form various disciplines of art will be a play titled Dr Khanna. The play is written and directed by famous theatre personality Tom Alter. The cast of the play includes Divya Arora and Tom Alter. The play in a rare display of melting the barriers between a doctor and his patient tells the story of a psychiatrist Dr Khanna who counsels his businessman patient Mr Kohli who is fighting the cobwebs of his life. Entwined between emotions and duties the story progresses as the formality between the two gives way to a feeling of brotherhood and conviviality. Another dance performance that forms the highlight of the festival is a show titled Sandhi. Caurated by Sanjeev Bhargava of Udaipur Music Festival fame, it is a beautiful collaboration between a classical vocalist and classical dancer. The performers include Ayona Bhaduri (Odissi), Bhuvanesh Komkali (Hindustani vocal), Srinibas Satapathy (Flute), Amrita Lahiri (Kuchipudi) and Sudha Raghuraman (Carnatic vocal). Dance, music and literature come together in this show to present an intermingling of various art forms.
A story telling workshop titled Eight Moon Project by Sahil Mukhia also forms a part of the event besides Chakrview, a design installation out together by India Design Forum.
