If heaven was on earth, chances are one would be waking up in the serenity of the hills, away from the stress of the city lives, as the sounds of live bands play soothing music interrupted only by the chirping birds. Well, a fantasy like this does come true once in a while, as the 6th edition of Kasauli Rhythm and Blues Festival announces its dates for the year. The charming music festival featuring some of the most covered names in the Indian music industry will be held from April 14 -16 at Baikunth Resorts in Kasauli, a small hilly town in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh.

The music festival that has reserved its spot as one of the awaited events for music lovers in India will feature performances from bands such as Nasya, Eka, Neeraj Arya Kabeer Café and the original grand dame of Indian rock n roll music Usha Uthup amongst many others. To give the festival a holistic music with a therapy experience there will be activities such as Drum circle and Meditation with Music.

The festival aims to promote the meditative power of music and gives a fresh perspective to the new popular music scene in India. The festival that is now in its sixth edition has attracted music and nature lovers from across the country for a weekend of soul satisfying music.

The festival is also associated with a noble cause as the funds raised from the feastival are used for the treatment of underprivileged children suffering from heart disorders. An initiative by Genesis Foundation, which has facilitated the medical treatment of more than 1000 kids from underprivileged backgrounds, the core focus for this years' festival has been announced to be an initiative to raise funds for children with heart disorders, one of the most common ailments affecting young children in India today.
