Da Camera of Houston presents "The Veil of Orpheus: Cy Twombly and Music," a unique musical event at The Menil Collection that explores the powerful influences of mythologyin particular the mythological Greek figure, Orpheuson visual art and music throughout history. The program includes Pierre Henry's The Veil of Orpheus, Matthias Pintscher's Study No. 1 for Treatise on the Veil, Possente spirto from Claudio Monteverdi's L'Orfeo, Harrison Birtwistle's Orpheus Elegies and two works by rising-star American composer and conductor Matthew Aucoin: The Earth and excerpts from his opera Eurydice, which premieres at the Metropolitan Opera in 201920.
