ZSP presents a new adaptation of Edmond Rostand's epic French romance, CYRANO DE BERGERAC, in collaboration with Apprentice Productions Theater Company.
The play tells the story of Cyrano, the renowned swordsman, musician, gifted poet, and playwright with one small problem: his large nose. Despite his many talents and heroic exploits, Cyrano harbors an unspoken love for his childhood friend, Roxane. When Roxane meets Christian, an attractive but not poetically gifted cadet in Cyrano's regiment, Cyrano and Christian hatch a plan to combine forces and woo Roxane together, with one's words and the other's beauty.
This production re-imagines the classic tale as an epic fairytale and marks ZSP's fourth IN-PERSON show.
The production features direction and a script adapted by Rebecca Bernstein, fight choreography by Seth Ramsey, intimacy coordination by Andrew Roblyer, costume design by Mandy Mershon, and features a cast of 14 wonderful actors, including several ZSP debut performances.
