Best Little Whorehouse in Texas opens at www.Playhouse1960.com this Friday, May 19th, 8PM. Shows every Friday and Saturday at 8PM, Sunday at 3PM through June 4th. Tickets available on the website.
Based on the true story of Marvin Zindler, an ABC13 Houston newsman, breaking open the story and resulting in closure of the whorehouse. It attracted national attention including discussions on late night television shows Johnny Carson and David Letterman.
Lots of energetic music, dancing helps to tell the story of the town's history with the brothel and the closure.
The production features local residents from Cypress, Copperfield, Jersey Village, Wortham Grove and other NW Houston and Spring neighborhoods.
Adult themes and language, depiction of gunfire
The production runs May 19, 20, 26, 27, June 2, 3 @ 8:00 pm and May 21, 28, June 4 @ 3:00 pm.
