The Houston Symphony announced Monday that concert tickets for Yo-Yo Ma are now on sale to the general public. Globally famous, the superstar cellist will join the orchestra and Music Director Andrés Orozco-Estrada at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017 at Jones Hall.

Ma will perform Dvorák's powerful Cello Concerto, a masterpiece written during the time the composer spent in America. Gershwin's jazz-influenced American in Paris will also be on the program.

Yo-Yo Ma is known worldwide as a soloist and chamber music aficionado. In addition to his performances, he dedicates much of his time to Silkroad, a nonprofit organization that seeks to create meaningful change in arts, education and business, which he founded in 1998. He has recorded more than 100 albums and remains one of the best-selling recording artists of the classical genre.

The concert will take place at Jones Hall for the Performing Arts, 615 Louisiana Street, in Houston's Theater District. For tickets and information, call (713) 224-7575 or visit www.houstonsymphony.org. Tickets may also be purchased at the Houston Symphony Patron Services Center in Jones Hall (Monday-Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.). All programs and artists are subject to change.
