Theatre Under The Stars' Holds Auditions for 13's Southwest Premiere

The Academy at The Humphreys School of Musical Theatre (HSMT) will hold AUDITIONS for the Southwest premiere of the groundbreaking musical "13", which recently closed on Broadway (http://www.13themusical.com/about/). Tony Award- winning composer Jason Robert Brown's other shows include, Parade, Songs For The New World, and Last Five Years. Participation in this show qualifies you as a The Academy at HSMT student for Theatre Under The Stars.

You must be 13-18 years old to audition.

´ Audition dates for Performers ONLY, Saturday April 25, 2009, 3 p.m. or Sunday April 26, 2009, 3 p.m.

o All actors will be asked to dance at 3 p.m. on their audition date
o Vocal auditions will happen after the dance call in order of arrival
o Actors must come prepared with 16 bars of a musical theatre uptempo pop selection, bring sheet music, an accompanist will be provided.

´ Audition dates for Musicians ONLY Saturday April 25, 2009 10 a.m. or Sunday May 3, 2009 : 3 p.m.
We are looking for musicians that play one of the following, keyboard, guitar, bass, drums
o Musicians will be asked to play 32 measures of a pop/rock song, their choice
o Musicians will then be asked to sight read a piece provided by the musical director
o There will be a drum set, keyboard and an amp provided, all bass and guitar players must provide their own instrument.
