Theater LaB Houston returns with its 21st Season of staging the BEST in contemporary theater. The search for a new and intimate venue that complements TLH's home of twenty years has been found at Obsidian Art Space (OAS) located at 3522 White Oak Blvd. Houston, Texas 77007. The four new season productions will be staged at OAS as well as Cock.

The 2013/14 TLH Season Subscription Series includes these four productions:

2013 Productions
Man 1 Bank 0
Created and performed by Patrick Combs
Houston Premiere

The true story of Patrick Combs depositing a $95,000 junk-mail check into his bank as a joke and the bank cashing it! Then things really got crazy! And even landed Patrick on The Oprah Winfrey Show. What makes this more than just a "helluva tale" is its look at the smothering of humanity by the modern-day boogeyman: "faceless corporate culture"...with well played villains and heroes. Man 1 Bank 0 is something of a comic reworking of David versus Goliath, or maybe even '1984' while saying something about the idealist notion of being decent and human. It's the perfect show for these complicated uncertain final days of 2013...

Man 1 Bank 0 has played to sold out crowds in New York, London, Edinburgh, Dublin, Montreal and San Francisco.

Press & Opening Night, Wednesday, November 13th 2013 at 8pm.

Burnt at the Steak

Created and performed by Carolann Valentino

Houston Premiere

Burnt at the Steak is the critically acclaimed one woman musical comedy based on a true story about a young aspiring female artist of Italian descent who leaves Texas for New York City to pursue a theatrical career. Soon after arriving in the "Big Apple" she lands a "rare" day job managing an infamous multi-million-dollar steakhouse in the heart of Manhattan. Her experiences in this male dominated industry teach her valuable lessons that help transform her life.

As the stress of trying to balance a performing arts career, along with the urging of her psychic (or is it psychotic?) Italian-American mother, her day job takes its toll emotionally and physically, she finds herself faced with having to make a choice with having to make a choice between following her dreams and holding on to the security of a six figure salary with all the perks. Will she play it safe or take a leap of faith? Restaurant staff members and the A-list clientele provide the basis for this entertainment that "sizzles". Through song, dance and comedy Carolann morphs into 18 hilarious characters - each show becomes a unique and spontaneous theatrical experience.

Burnt at the Steak has been awarded BEST of the Fringe Festivals in Calgary, Vancouver, Edmonton and Boulder and has played to sold-out runs in Orlando, Dallas, Denver and Fresno.
