2018 SEASON: BIRTH OF A NATION

The Bayou Theatre Company celebrates five years of timeless theatre! From the towering pillars of the French monarchy to a mysterious land of endless possibilities and the promise of a selfless savior, these thrilling productions will take audiences on adventures abroad and within. Entitled Birth of a Nation , our programming for our fifth season explores the individual versus the indivisible and the weight of change.

KILL MOVE PARADISE

Synopsis: Welcome to an interactive theatrical experience set in Purgatory. We meet Isa, Grif, Daz and Tiny, four black men ripped prematurely from Earth by police brutality. Imbued with strict instructions from God, the men must share their stories with us and each other in order to ascend into Heaven. David Ijames' Kill Move Paradise is an innovative theatrical love letter for those innocent lives unjustly slain. Rating: PG-13.

Synopsis: Set in 18th century Versailles, the dazzling and doomed Queen of France battles the pressures of the snarky monarchy, her torrid love affair, the burgeoning French Resistance that threatens to steal her crown, sketchy talking sheep and mightiest of all, her own massive ego. How's a young queen to keep her head in the middle of a revolution? David Adjmi's brilliant interpretation on Marie's final days is sure to delight. Rating: PG-13.

BLACK NATIVITY

This unforgettable theatrical experience is infused with rousing gospel music, soul-stirring dancing and stories familiar and unfamiliar. Join us for a thrilling time to celebrate heritage, faith and community! Rating: G.
