Actor's Equity Association artists Ron Jones, Celeste Roberts, Joel Sandel, David Grant, Nick Henderson and Lauren Smith will produce Houston's first Equity Showcase production, the Houston premiere of Tennessee Williams' rarely produced THE MILK TRAIN DOESN'T STOP HERE ANYMORE.

Debuting on Broadway in 1963, the play was revived in New York in 1964 with Tallulah Bankhead in the starring role of Flora Goforth, an aging socialite writing her last memoirs. Subsequent New York revivals occurred in 1987 with Elizabeth Ashley and 2011 with Olympia Dukakis (directed by Michael Wilson.)

Synopis of the play:

Set on the coast of Italy, in a picturesque Italian mountaintop home, Flora Goforth, a wealthy American widow has detached herself from the world in order to write her memoirs. When a handsome and mysterious young visitor arrives without warning to keep Flora company in her final hours, this dreamlike play blossoms into a fascinating meditation on life and death.

Ron Jones directs the Houston Showcase production which features Celeste Roberts as Flora Goforth and Nick Henderson as Chris Flanders, the handsome gigolo determined to share in Mrs. Goforth's wealth. Acting support is provided by Mollie Searcy, Joel Sandel, David Grant, and Darnea Olson.
