Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS) and the Humphreys School of Musical Theatre (HSMT) presents Working: A Musical from the book by Studs Terkel, adapted by Stephen Schwartz and Nina Faso, running September 15-17 in Zilkha Hall at the Hobby Center for The Performing Arts.

Based on Terkel's best-selling book of interviews with American workers and updated to a contemporary American setting, this Tony-nominated musical paints a vivid and honest portrait of men and women the world so often takes for granted. This classic has been updated for a modern age featuring songs by Craig Carnelia, Micki Grant, Tony Award-winning composer Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton, Disney's Moana), as well as favorites by Stephen Schwartz, and James Taylor.

The HSMT production features 41 young actors and actresses playing the roles of the various workers from all walks of life.

Dave Clemmons, Dean of the Humphreys School says, "The strength of this musical lies in the core truths that transcend specific professions showing how people's relationships to their work ultimately reveal key aspects of their humanity regardless of the trappings of the job itself.

Working: A Musical is directed by Roshunda Jones and is choreographed by Christian Warner. Additionally, Musical Direction will be handled by Jack Beetle, Scenic Design by Adam C. Spencer, Costume Design by Colleen Grady, Lighting Design by Mark Grady, with Will Greer as Props Coordinator.
