Theatre Under The Stars' Humphreys School of Musical Theatre (HSMT) is pleased to announce this year's highly-anticipated summer production at Miller Outdoor Theatre will be James and the Giant Peach, based on the book by British author Roald Dahl (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The BFG, Matilda). This captivating musical, based on the childhood favorite novel of the same name, is a wildly imaginative twisted tale filled with action-packed adventures, finding its own charming zigzag route to a happy ending after some often humorous struggles.

When James is sent by his conniving aunts to chop down their old fruit tree, he discovers a magic potion which results in a tremendous peach - and launches a journey of enormous proportions. Featuring a wickedly tuneful score by the Tony Award-nominated team of Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (A Christmas Story, Dogfight) and a curiously quirky book by Timothy Allen McDonald (Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka, The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley, Jim Henson's Emmet Otter). With TUTS Associate Artistic Director Marley Wisnoski at the helm, James proves to be a perfect show for audiences of all ages!

James and the Giant Peach Jr., a shortened version with a slightly longer than an hour run time, is presented FREE to the public on June 8, 9 and 10 at 11:00 a.m. The full length performance of James and the Giant Peach is presented FREE to the public on June 10 and 11 at 8:15 p.m. Covered seats for the evening performances are available on the day of the show for free between 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Miller Theatre Box Office. Free tickets are limited to four per person (over the age of 16). Any tickets remaining will be given out one hour before curtain.
