TUTS Humphreys School of Musical Theatre Announces All Ages Fall Classes

This autumn, join TUTS' Humphreys School of Musical Theatre as we present an exciting and diverse camp curriculum for all ages and skill levels! Beginning in September, TUTS' Humphreys School of Musical Theatre offers a variety of musical theatre classes including, master series dance, and a variety of classes for adults! Participants will develop confidence, foster language arts, increase physical coordination, promote cooperative ensemble attitudes and expand social skills during the rehearsal and performance process. Adults can mix entertainment, education and exercise with Ballet Boot Camp and more.

Since 1972, the Humphreys School of Musical Theatre, the official training wing of Theatre Under The Stars, has provided a superb and thrilling forum for musical theatre training for children and adults. Housed in the TUTS Studios at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts, its year-round schedule is conducted by an outstanding professional faculty and renowned resident artists who inspire and train students in every aspect of musical theatre, from vocal technique and choreography to costume design and prop construction.

PERFORMANCE STUDIOS

Teach your children the fun of singing, dancing, and acting to favorite Broadway hits. Students develop musical theatre performance skills at all levels by rehearsing a fast-track salute to a Broadway musical. At the end of their eight week session, students present an informal showcase. Each student is involved in the creative process of staging and choreography, as well as costumes and props. This class meets Saturday mornings Sept. 19- Nov. 21

HIP HOP
ALEX ARIZPE is back with his amazing moves in this 10 week ONLY Hip Hop Course. Don't miss the chance to dance with a Houston Legend. You will learn moves that you never thought you could do! This class meets on Saturday mornings Sept. 19- Nov. 21

MASTER DANCE SERIES
Students will study different areas of dance with various professionals from New York, LA and Houston that are currently in the business; Musical Theatre, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Ballet, Modern and more! You will increase your knowledge of steps, choreography and choreographers with this Master Dance Class. This class is great for High School Students looking for a career in Musical Theatre. This class meets on Friday evenings Sept. 18- Nov. 20, 2009

ADULT PROGRAMMING

BALLET BOOT CAMP

Program is designed to help the student slim, strengthen, tone and refine the entire body with a unique combination of traditional ballet conditioning and tough muscle toning. This class is planned for both dancers and non-dancers.

CARDIO TAP Students receive a cardio workout in a fast-paced, high energy tap class. You will learn to improve memory work through tap steps. The class is designed for tappers and non-tappers to enjoy a cardio workout with their tap shoes during the lunch break hour.
