The Grand 1894 Opera House welcomes actor John Pinero to Galveston for a performance of his one-man play, Vince! The Life and Times of Vince Lombardi, Saturday, November 21 at 8 pm. This performance is sponsored in part by HomeTown Bank, The Houston Chronicle, Tom Schwenk, Realtor; KTRH Radio and SportsTalk Radio.

Tickets may be purchased at The Grand's Box Office, 2020 Postoffice Street, by calling 409.765.1894, 800.821.1894, or online at www.thegrand.com.

People often told John Pinero that he looked like the late Vince Lombardi, a Fordham football player who planned to enter the priesthood but instead won six state championships as a high school coach; became assistant to the famed Red Blaik at West Point; and finally took the cellar-dwelling Green Bay Packers to the first two Super Bowl championships. Pinero has received extensive praise for his portrayal of the greatest professional coach in football history from critics as well as the Pro Football Hall of Fame, the Green Bay Packer Hall of Fame, and former Lombardi players Bart Starr, Willie Davis, Fuzzy Thurston and Jerry Kramer.

Los Angeles Times sportswriter Mike Downey wrote, "I know my program said Lombardi was being played by John Pinero, but I didn't fall for that. That was Vince Lombardi up there on stage." As you listen to him perform as Vince Lombardi, maybe you will not only get an idea of how Lombardi inspired his players, but you will catch a spark of zeal yourself." This performance is sponsored in part by HomeTown Bank, The Houston Chronicle, Tom Schwenk, Realtor; KTRH Radio and SportsTalk Radio.
