Stephen Sondheim To Visit Houston 10/25, Cast of KVPAC's INTO THE WOODS to Perform

Stephen Sondheim will be visiting Houston and The Katy Visual & Performing Arts Center (KVPAC) cast of Into the Woods has been invited by the Houston Society for the Performing Arts to be the Prelude Performance for their Stephen Sondheim event Sunday, October 25th. The cast will be singing in the lobby at Jones Hall (on the piano level) at 7:00 pm before the Sondheim show that evening. This will be a historic occasion for KVPAC Encore Players, Katy's only adult community theatre, to receive this special honor!

Into the Woods brings to musical life Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk, Little Red Riding Hood and other beloved fairy tale characters and gives the audience a look at what happens after “Happily Ever After”. Interwoven with these classic tales is the story of the baker and his wife, whose longing for a child is thwarted by a mischievous witch who lives next door.

While this show is based on childhood fairy tales, it is intended for an adult audience.

Into The Woods is scheduled to run October 2-17, 2009.  ?All performances are at 8:00pm with the exception of a 2 PM matinee on October 11.  Tickets for adults are $18 in advance and $20 at the door.  Student and senior tickets are $15.  Group discounts are available for groups of 10 or more for $10 each.
