Step right up, step right up! Circus 1903-Golden Age of Circus will help cap off SPA's 50th Anniversary Season, for several performances June 9th through the 11th in Jones Hall, presented by the Society for the Performing Arts.

From the producers of The Illusionists, the best-selling magic show in the world, and the creative minds at Significant Objects, the award-winning puppeteers behind War Horse on Broadway, comes a celebration and reimagining of a turn-of-the-century circus spectacular.

Two decades ago, Cirque du Soleil famously removed the animals from the circus, but with Circus 1903 - The Golden Age of Circus they are back and more beautiful-and distinctive-than ever! Along with mesmerizing puppets and special effects to create the animal acts, Circus 1903 -The Golden Age of Circus also features the most amazing, dangerous, and exceptional acts from the four corners of the globe. It all comes together to transport the audience to the golden age of the circus, a truly captivating circus extravaganza that is the perfect night for the entire family.

All performances will be held in Jones Hall for the Performing Arts. There will be five total performances from Friday, June 9th through Sunday, June 11th. Tickets are $33-93 and can be purchased online at www.spahouston.org, by phone at 713-227- 4772 or at the courtyard level ticket office at Jones Hall located at 615 Louisiana St. Hours of operation: 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday. Founded in 1966, Society for the Performing Arts (SPA) is the largest independent non-profit presenting organization in the Southwest. Since its inception, SPA has sponsored more than 1,000 performances of the world's finest music, dance and theater events, in adherence to the belief that the arts are fundamental to the overall enrichment and quality of life within the community. In addition to presenting artists, SPA seeks to provide a variety of learning experiences for adults and children through master classes, lectures and special student performances, as well as build relationships between the performing arts and other interests within the greater Houston area and throughout the state of Texas.
