The nonprofit AT&T Performing Arts Center today announced the fall semester of Sammons Lunch Jam, free outdoor concerts in the Dallas Arts District featuring students from Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. They perform for office workers, residents, artists, students, picnickers and others enjoying lunch in Sammons Park on the Center's campus. The fall semester begins Thursday, September 29 at noon, after hundreds enjoyed the concerts last spring.
"The quality of the performances will blow you away," said Doug Curtis, president and CEO of the AT&T Performing Arts Center. "Sammons Lunch Jam is an exciting platform for our talented young neighbors, and adds to the sense of community in our rapidly growing neighborhood."
"The Sammons Lunch Jams are a perfect example of the partnerships and relationships that exist between the school and our neighbors in the Dallas Arts District," said Dr. Scott Rudes, principal at Booker T. "We are truly thankful for the opportunity to share our students and their talents with the downtown Dallas community."
