A love story that transcends the ages. A master of the Roman Empire risks everything for the love of one of history's most fascinating women. As Rome plunges into war, Mark Antony, one of Rome's greatest champions and political leaders, is torn between his duty to his country and his love for Cleopatra, Egypt's firey queen. Intertwined with this love story, Antony and Cleopatra is an epic packed with political intrigue, betrayal, scandal, and international power struggles, themes that will seem all too familiar to the modern world. Antony and Cleopatra globetrots from country to country, battle to battle, all within the intimate walls of Obsidian Theater, one of Houston's most lauded and critically acclaimed producing houses.

Director Sam Martinez reimagines and brings to life this classic that is rarely produced in modern times. It is Obsidian's hope that we can remedy this and expose new audiences to this literary and theatrical gem. Martinez, along with the Assistant Director Elizabeth Grant, edited the show for length distilling and streamlining the story to its essence to present a sweeping epic that modern audiences will love.

The show comes to life with a stellar cast that includes Whitney Zangarine as Cleopatra and Tom Stell (Best Actor - Houston Press Theater Award 2016) as Antony.

Performance dates are March 16, 17, 18, 23, 24, 25, 27, 29, 30, 31 and April 1, 6, 7 and 8 at 8:00pm and April 2 at 3:00pm
