Mildred's Umbrella Theatre Company has selected nineteen new short plays from over 100 entries by emerging and established writers nationwide to present in this year's Museum of Dysfunction short play festival, which will be held June 29-July 1 and July 6-8, 2017. Each play was read blind (with no authorial identification) by a panel of professional writers and the highest scores were chosen and approved by the artistic staff of Mildred's Umbrella.
Now in its ninth year, Museum of Dysfunction has become a staple of Houston theatre festivals, offering a stage for works that may be a little too dark or eccentric on other stages. New for this year, eight spots were held exclusively for high school and college students as a way to encourage their craft and build their portfolio.
