The Giver, based on the Newbery Award-winning book by Lois Lowry, adapted by Eric Coble, will be directed by Troy Scheid at Main Street Theater - Chelsea Market, January 22 to February 15, 2014.
The theater is located at 4617 Montrose Blvd., Houston, TX 77006. The show will run Saturdays at 1pm and 4pm, Jan.25 - Feb. 15, 2014.
Main Street will host a book club meeting for adults and teens. On Thursday, Jan, 23, MST and Brazos Bookstore will partner for two discussions about The Giver. A discussion for teens will be held at 6pm; a discussion for adults will be held at 7:30pm. Both discussions will be at Brazos Bookstore, 2421 Bissonnet. PLAY SYNOPSIS: Jonas's world is perfect. Everything is controlled and there are no choices. Recommended for Fourth Grade and up. Children under the age of 3 (including sleeping babies) are not allowed in the theater.
