TUTS Underground announces the final show that will steam up its 2013-2014 season. Murder Ballad, the sultry story of passion's dark side, is set to run in Hobby Center's 500-seat Zilkha Hallfrom April 15 - 27, 2014.

A love triangle gone wrong, Murder Ballad centers on Sara, an Upper West Sider who seemingly has it all but whose downtown past lingers enticingly and dangerously in front of her. This sexy, explosive, new rock musical explores the complications of love, the compromises we make, and the betrayals that can ultimately undo us. Hailed by critics as "a chilling, thrilling, romantic, roller coaster ride of a show," Murder Balladfeatures a concept, book and lyrics by Julia Jordan and music and lyrics by indie rock singer/songwriter Juliana Nash.

"Filled with a steamy plot and one of the most intriguing sets known to theatre, Murder Ballad will seduce audiences with an immersion experience unlike any other show," said John Breckenridge, TUTS' President and CEO. During the production, theatre goers will be part of the action thanks to a fully operational bar, which serves as the story's setting.

The other TUTS Underground shows include Lizzie (Oct. 10 - 20, 2013), 50 Shades! The Musical (Dec. 17 - 22, 2013) and Hands on a Hardbody (June 12 - 22, 2014).

The TUTS Underground series is made possible through support from the Albert and Ethel Herzstein Charitable Foundation and United Airlines.

The Underground series is a new venture and legacy for TUTS, Houston's largest nonprofit musical theatre company. Forged from the guidelines of "No revivals - No dead authors - No boundaries," TUTS Underground features productions that are edgy, captivating, rockin' and occasionally a bit risqué.
