After its debut in Austin, Texas in November 2014, the play was an official selection in the 2015 DC Black Theater Festival in June, and will be featured in the 2015 Atlanta Black Theater Festival in October. The Story... Awaken in the middle of the night by a "voice", Playboy Ricky Taylor is commanded to change his womanizing ways and commit to the one woman who was "designed" for him, Miss Carrie, a relationship author and life-coach. But just as he's ready to commit, Mya Love moves into his apartment complex. Rick is immediately attracted to his mysterious new neighbor but it turns out that Mya is no stranger at all. She claims to have had a past relationship with Rick that ended badly, but he has no recollection of her or the heartbreak she claims to have suffered.
Offended by his lack of memory and jealous of his love for Carrie, she seeks an ultimate revenge on Rick that would take more than his charming ways to defend. Love's Gonna Get'cha is a smart and witty comedy-thriller that will make you laugh while sending chills down your spine. TWO PERFORMANCES will be held on Saturday August 22, 2015 at 3pm and 7pm at the Midtown Arts Center, 3414 LaBranch Street, Houston, Texas. Advance tickets can be purchased online for $15 at www.eventbrite.com.
