Iconotheatrix Announces Their Production Of The Side-Splitting Comedy, AVENUE Q Image

Iconotheatrix will present their production of Avenue Q- School Edition March 22-31, 2018 at Obsidian Theater. Winner of the Tony "Triple Crown" for Best Musical, Best Score and Best Book, Avenue Q- School Edition is part flesh, part felt and packed with heart. The laugh-out-loud musical tells the timeless story of a recent college grad named Princeton, who moves into a shabby New York apartment all the way out on Avenue Q. He soon discovers that, although the residents seem nice, it's clear that this is not your ordinary neighborhood. Together, Princeton and his new-found friends struggle to find jobs, dates and their ever-elusive purpose in life. Filled with gut-busting humor and a delightfully catchy score, not to mention puppets, Avenue Q- School Edition is a truly unique show that has quickly become a favorite for audiences everywhere.

Avenue Q- School Edition will be performed at Obsidian Theater, located in the Houston Heights. The show will run for 9 performances only from March 22-31. Tickets range from $15 for students to $25 for adults. Tickets can be purchased at http://www.iconotheatrix.org/current-production.

With music and lyrics by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx, and a book by Jeff Whitty, Avenue Q- School Edition is filled with hilarious characters ranging from humans, to monsters, and even bears!

Iconotheatrix, a youth theatre company, has cast Woodlands High School senior, Magnus Kroken, who leads the cast as Princeton who is searching for his life's purpose. Kroken also plays the flamboyant puppet, Rod. Co-starring with Kroken as Princeton's new best friend (who would love to be more than that), Kate, is Clear Brook High School senior, Jasmine Escobedo. As the many residents of Avenue Q, Iconotheatrix has cast Courtney Robertson (Gary Coleman... yes, that Gary Coleman), Alec White (Brian/Trekkie Monster), and Daniela Garrett (Christmas Eve). Rounding out the puppets that live on the block are Janson Hanes (Nicky),Meredith England (Lucy), and Jessyiah Fuentes and Amber Huchton (Bad Idea Bears).

The creative team is comprised of familiar faces to Iconotheatrix, featuring direction by David Allen III, and music direction by Heather Buzonas.
