A.D. Players, one of Houston's oldest and largest resident theatre companies, will host a showstopper gala in celebration of its 51-year history and upcoming season. Drawing inspiration from old Hollywood, the "A.D. Players First Annual After Dinner Affair" promises an evening of food, drink and knock-your-socks-off entertainment for attendees. Tickets for the event, which will take place from 6:30-10 p.m. on Saturday, March 24, are available now for purchase.
Hosted at the company's freshly established home, the Jeannette and L.M. George Theater, guests will enjoy an elegant dinner served in the stunning George Theater lobby. Following the meal, they will be treated to an unforgettable, all-star entertainment showcase featuring special performers, including "Jersey Boys" star and A.D. Players Executive Director Jake Speck, cast members from A.D. Players' "Godspell" and other surprise guests.
"This will be a night to remember," said Event Chair Marsha Eckermann. "We're celebrating the rich history of A.D. Players, and its very bright future, while honoring our new theater's namesakes, Jeannette and Lorraine M. George."
Guests will also have the opportunity to partake in an auction for special items such as:
A night out in Houston, with the best seats in the house for "Hamilton" and back stage tour.
Ultimate Nashville Music City experience, including a priceless backstage tour at the Ryman Auditorium.
An in-home dining experience for 12 - including wine and service - provided by Cordua Catering.
Collegiate football experiences featuring both Texas A&M and University of Texas.
Special collections from the home of Lorraine and Jeannette Clift George.
"Your time to shine" in a special walk-on role at The George Theater.
Auction attendees can register and bid from anywhere, as long as they have an internet connection, and do not have to be present to win.
"We're excited to host this event in our new space," said Speck, "and introduce those who may not yet be familiar with us to the work of A.D. Players, including an announcement about our upcoming season."
