In celebration of today's holiday, International Speak Like a Pirate Day, the Houston Symphony is excited to announce a performance of "Disney Live in Concert: Pirates of the Caribbean The Curse of the Black Pearl" on May 30, 2013. The concert will feature a live performance of the exhilarating film score, while the audience watches the full length film on a screen above the orchestra. Tickets go on sale today, September 19. The 2003 smash hit Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, tells the story of a young blacksmith, Will Turner, who teams up with eccentric pirate "Captain" Jack Sparrow to save his love, the governor's daughter, from Jack's former pirate allies, who are now undead. The film stars Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightly, with the musical score by Klaus Badelt based on themes of Hans Zimmer.
