The Caduceus Theater Arts Company presents its first show, "Don't Dress For Dinner," a two-act comedy by French playwright Marc Camoletti, adapted by Robin Hawdon. Similar to Camoletti's "Boeing-Boeing," this play contains secret lovers, mistresses, and mistaken identities.

Executive Artistic Director, Dr. Michael J. Heard, with a passion and commitment to the Houston Arts Community, created this New Theatre Company in hopes to deepen the connection between the local theater scene and the professional community in the Greater Houston Area.

"My goal is to connect with the professional side of Houston where I live and work, and attract this special population into the theater arts world, allowing more opportunities for busy professionals to experience theater at its finest," Heard said.

Caduceus Theater is committed to supporting the local arts by offering equitable pay and employment opportunities for talented artists and initiatives for education and community outreach.

"There are problems within the industry, where so many pursue a serious commitment to the theater arts without real recognition or compensation," Heard said.

He is excited to be working with a very talented cast on this hilarious comedy for the opening show of his artistic venture. Caduceus is even under a new agreement with Actors' Equity, as a small professional theater, and is positioned to be another equity employer for professionals.

"We are excited that our agreement for this show, with Actor's Equity Association, allows us to hire Equity Actors as a new Small Professional Theatre," Heard said.

Dr. Heard is an OBGYN/Reproductive Specialist in Houston who also spends time working in the Emergency Room. He hopes his new theater company to challenge audiences to learn, think, heal, and grow. He has been involved in the Houston theater community for 15 years in a variety of capacities-as a donor, volunteer, actor and producer.

The show will run from June 2 to 15, with previews on May 31 on June 1. Weekday and weekend night performances will begin at 8:00 p.m. and weekend matinees, on Saturday and Sunday, will begin at 2:00 p.m.
