For years, Girls Inc. of Greater Houston has inspired all girls to be strong, smart and bold. For its 20th anniversary celebration, Girls Inc. will launch a unique fundraiser, Project Playhouse at Discovery Green®, a beautiful, vibrant 12-acre park in the heart of downtown Houston that attracts over 1.2 million visitors.

The playhouses built by architecture firms, engineering firms, builders, contractors, residential brokerages and real estate developers will be on display at Discovery Green® for 10 days and then auctioned to support Girls Inc. of Greater Houston at the special event, Frolic on the Green, on Thursday, April 14 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Proceeds from the Project Playhouse auction at Frolic on the Green will directly benefit the work of Girls Inc, of Greater Houston, which provides programs in area schools to inspire all girls to be strong, smart and bold. Programs provide girls ages 6-18 with education and training in math and science, health and wellness, economic literacy, leadership and avoiding risky behaviors.

Girls Inc. understands the complexity of girls' lives and is dedicated to advancing the basic human rights of girls; the right to be respected, self-reliant, healthy, safe, and challenged. Girls Inc, teaches girls how to be fierce. A strong, smart, and bold girl means someone that's not afraid of living up to their full potential, that doesn't consider gender stereotypes to hold them back, and that will work hard toward all of their goals. We invite you to create a playhouse that is strong, smart and bold.

There is no cost to participate in Project Playhouse; however, you will need to provide your own materials and transportation for your playhouse.
