Patti Page was a trailblazer. She pioneered overdubbing in 1947 by singing duets and quartets with herself. She was the best selling female artist of the 1950s and sold 100 million records. FLIPSIDE: The Patti Page Story traces her beginnings as a singer for the Page Milk Company program on KTLU in Oklahoma to her success as "the Singin' Rage, Miss Patti Page" in the 1960s. FLIPSIDE received 18 awards at the Kennedy Center National Theater Festival in 2011 including outstanding musical and outstanding performance by an actress for Haley Jane Pierce. Tickets for this one-night only performance on Saturday, November 16 at 8:00 p.m. at The Grand 1894 Opera House, 2020 Postoffice Street, Galveston, 77550 are available through The Grand's website at www.thegrand.com or by calling (409) 765-1894 or (800) 821-1894.

Director/writer Greg White allows music to tell Patti's story and has cast two talented performers to reveal the dual sides of Patti's character. Kennedy Center award winner Haley Jane Pierce evokes the soft-spoken Clara Ann Fowler (Patti's given name) and Melissa Griffith embodies the public persona of the elegant Patti Page. Signature singles such as Tennessee Waltz, Mockin' Bird Hill, How Much is that Doggie in the Window, Old Cape Cod, and I Don't Care if the Sun Don't Shine, give the audience insight into the life and career of this singing legend. Gorgeous costumes and performances that capture Page's lush vocal styling and distinct mannerisms add to the enjoyment of the production. Page was awarded the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award (posthumously) in 2013.

Tickets for FLIPSIDE: The Patti Paige Story start at $21 and is sponsored in part by Moody National Bank. Call for pricing on Box Seats.
