Discount Tix Available for SHREK At Hobby Center During Theatre District Open House, Aug 29

Discount tickets for SHREK THE MUSICAL and the 2010-2011 Gexa Energy Broadway series at the Hobby Center will be available during the 17^th Annual Theatre District Open House on Sunday, Aug. 29 from 12 to 4 p.m.  Saving opportunities include up to 25 percent off the price of a five-show subscription package and $10 off all single tickets for the October 19 and 20 performances of SHREK THE MUSICAL.  In addition, the first 50 people in line at the box office will receive a SHREK THE MUSICAL gift bag!

SHREK THE MUSICAL, based on the Oscar®-winning DreamWorks film that started it all, brings the hilarious story of everyone's favorite ogre to dazzling new life on the stage at The Hobby Center. In a faraway kingdom turned upside down, things get ugly when an unseemly ogre - not a handsome prince - shows up to rescue a feisty princess. Throw in a donkey who won't shut up, a villain with a "short" temper, a cookie with an attitude and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you've got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there's one on hand and his name is Shrek! Full of all-new songs, great dancing and breathtaking scenery, SHREK THE MUSICAL is part romance, part twisted fairy tale and all irreverent fun for everyone!
