DOG SEES GOD: CONFESSIONS OF A TEENAGE BLOCKHEAD, an 'unauthorized parody,' by Bert V. Royal, imagines the Peanuts characters as teenagers in today's complex and modern world. Do you remember that uncomfortable stage of teenage adolescence? DOG SEES GOD takes the audience on a journey to revisit the awkward phases of self-discovery amidst ever-mounting societal pressures.
When CB's dog dies, CB begins to question the existence of an afterlife, human connections, relationships, and choices. All alone, he is left to ponder his sister's need to be goth, his friend smoking pretty much everything, and why someone would light the little red-headed girl's hair on fire, amongst other queries.
Director, Cameron Dunbar has put together a remarkably talented cast that includes: Kyle Crawford (CB), Annie Schwenk (CB's Sister), Matt Poole (Van), Xavier Lehew (Beethoven), Tara Wright (Tricia), Katherine Cunningham (Marcy), Justin Gonzalez (Matt), and Bri Wehman (Van's Sister). "I had the pleasure of being directed by Cameron last season. I was thrilled when he agreed to direct again this season. He is the perfect person to take on this funny, poignant, and thought-provoking show," says Kim Mytelka (ETC Artistic Director).
