Revels Houston invites the public to join them as they usher in the holidays at a public gathering hosted by Spacetaker and Boheme Café and Wine Bar from 5 to 10 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 1 at the Cafe's 307 Fairview location in the Montrose neighborhood. The community-based, nonprofit song and dance troupe is celebrating its 21st season in Houston.

Each week, Spacetaker and Boheme host a different local arts group through their Cultured Cocktail series. At this special happy hour, guests get up close and personal with the artists that make Houston unique. A portion of the evening's proceeds will benefit Revels Houston.

The Revelry ensemble will perform, and fans will have the opportunity to meet the cast and learn more about the next production.

Jenni Rebecca Stephenson, executive director of Spacetaker, said she is thrilled to host Revels Houston. "I've been a big fan of Revels for years," she said. "I can remember dancing out of Stude Concert Hall, hand in hand with my friends and the other audience members the first time I attended. It was quite an introduction."

In December, Revels Houston will present "The Christmas Revels: In Celebration of the Winter Solstice." Performances will draw from the songs, dance, poetry and games of early 19th century Bavaria and the surrounding regions at Yuletide. Six performances are scheduled the weekends of December 10 and 11 and December 17 and 18. The performances take place on the University of Houston campus at the Wortham Theater in the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Center for the Arts.
