Kicking off the holiday season while also helping to raise funds for the theater's ongoing operations, a one-weekend-only Yuletide Cabaret will be presented at The Country Playhouse on November 30 to December 2, with an opening night cocktail reception gala at 6:30 p.m., plus a Saturday performance at 8:00 p.m., and closing with a matinee at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday.
Directed by Carrie Woliver with musical direction by Lee La Forge, this special benefit event will feature local performers Walt Agnew, Grace Givens, Brad Goertz, Danica Dawn Johnston, Chelsea Lerner, Keith Robinson, Jim Salners, Tamara Siler, and Jay Tribble, with Susan Agnew, Jake Bevill, Faith Taylor, and Olivia Holm. The Cabaret includes favorite holiday music as well as new Christmas songs and sketches, to lighten the hearts of all ages.
In addition to the Cabaret performances, there will be an opening night gala co-chaired by Ms. Woliver and Country Playhouse board member Stephanie Linhart that includes a 6:30 p.m. cocktail reception with wine and food generously provided by Brio's Tuscan Grill at City Centre, plus celebrity guest performers Warner Roberts and Ernie Manouse.
Ms. Roberts, best known for hosting the "The Warner Roberts Show" on KRIV-TV, is also a veteran actress, renowned hostess of charity fundraising, and the creator of The Social Book. Mr. Manouse is an anchor and producer at Houston PBS, where he hosts "InnerVIEWS" and "Houston 8." He has received several regional Emmy Awards for his work.
