ZACH Theatre has announced the cast for the musical Tortoise and Hare, the 2018-19 season opener for ZACH's Moody Foundation Theatre for Families series. Based on the story by Aesop, featuring music and lyrics by Allen Robertson and book by Allen Robertson and Damon Brown, Tortoise and Hare plays The Kleberg at ZACH, September 8-January 27, 2019 under the direction of Nat Miller with musical direction by Allen Robertson.
Ancient versus modern. Peace versus war. Reptile versus mammal. A tale of the ultimate Culture Clash between two tribes and a fantastical race to decide their fate. Written by the talented Allen Robertson and Damon Brown, with modern music and energetic re-imagining of the ancient fable that will delight turtles and hares of all ages!
The cast includes MARIELA DENSON and BLAKENEY MAHLSTEDT as Haro; MERCY BOVIK and CARLI VINCIGUERRA as Britney/Kabri; Leslie Ann Leal as Kama; Michael Wheeler as Simon; John Christopher as Novi/Joey; AUSTIN HYDE as Jackson/Auhy; MEGAN HUDSON as Harper; Rachel Pallante as Monoli/Presley; MARIEL ARDILA as Female Understudy; and NICHOLAS KIER as Male Understudy.
Directed by NAT MILLER, the production team also includes ALLEN ROBERTSON as Musical Director, SARA BURKE as Choreographer, ANNE MCMEEKING as Scenic Designer, JAIMEE GARNER as Costume Designer, RACHEL ATKINSON as Lighting Designer with CRAIG BROCK as Sound Designer, SCOTT GROH as Properties Designer, and KAT KENNEDY as Stage Manager.
