A.D. Players, one of Houston's oldest and largest professional theater companies, is proud to present Charlotte's Web as its first children's theater performance at the new Jeannette and L.M. George Theater (George Theater). Charlotte's Web runs March 15 through April 1 with matinee performances only, catering to Houston-area families and school groups. The play is the second of six notable plays coming to the George Theater in 2017. A. D. Players recently completed a 4-week run of To Kill a Mockingbird to rave reviews, both of the show and of the new 440-seat, state-of-the-art performance venue.

Based on the classic tale by E.B. White and dramatized by Joseph Robinette for the stage, Charlotte's Web chronicles the challenges of a pig named Wilbur and his friendship with a barn spider named Charlotte. The well-known and much-beloved story powerfully affirms both the beauty of friendship and the power of sacrificial love. Charlotte's Web is directed by Melody Torno with a strong cast of local actors, including Nick Thomas in the role of Wilbur, Callie Timme as Fern and Haley Landers as Charlotte.

"Charlotte's Web has delighted many generations of readers and audiences over the years, so I am thrilled to be able to offer it to this generation of Houston-area families," said A. D. Players Founder and Artistic Director Jeannette Clift George. "Our new, more ample space at the George Theater affords us the opportunity to expand and enhance the show's storytelling, including "flying" the character of Charlotte above the stage, which will be a first for our theater."

The Jeannette and L.M. George Theater is located at 5420 Westheimer. Tickets can be purchased here or by calling the George Theater Box Office at 713.526.2721 between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Future A. D. Players performances at the George Theater include John, His Story, You Can't Take It With You, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and Godspell.
