Unity Theatre, Brenham's small town professional theatre, opens the 2017-2018 season with a delightful musical tribute, A Grand Night for Singing, playing on the Main Stage from now through October 15, 2017.

This Tony-nominated Best Musical is a loving tribute to the timeless genius of Rodgers and Hammerstein. Audiences will love the sultry Andrews Sisters-esque "I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Out-a My Hair," discover "How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria?" when sung by a lovelorn young lad and delight in "Shall We Dance?" as a comic pas de deux. With more than 30 songs from the Rodgers and Hammerstein canon it will truly be a 'Grand Night for Singing.

Director Jimmy Phillips (Always, Patsy Cline; Little Women: The Musical; Nunsense) returns to Unity to helm this fun, musical journey through the sweetest sounds of Rodgers and Hammerstein. Musical Director Steven Jones will also perform as the pianist for the production.

Long time Unity favorite Josh Estrada (The Miss Firecracker Contest; Forever Plaid: Plaid Tidings; Almost, Maine) returns to again share his talents, along with Shelby Bray and Amanda Parker, who each debuted at Unity Theatre in last season's Little Women: The Musical. You'll also enjoy the vocal talents of Haley Hussey and Brock Hatton, along with violinist Zachary Montasser.

A Grand Night for Singing runs for three weekends at Unity Theatre, opening tonight, Friday, September 29 and playing through Sunday, October 15. Performances are Thursdays at 7:30 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 4 p.m. Tickets are $30 and seating is reserved; however, $22 tickets are available for Preview September 28, student tickets are always $15 and all unsold seats are $15 at 15 minutes prior to any performance.
