Art Factory 2018 Season Announcement

From the start to end of 2018, Art Factory will have presented eight fully produced musicals, and six explosive concerts. Four musicals and five concerts remain for audiences to enjoy before the end of the year!

Founded in the Autumn of 2016 by Executive Director Luke Hamilton and Artistic Director Colton Berry, Art Factory began in the East Downtown (EaDo) District of Houston, Texas, as EaDo Playhouse. In January of 2018, Art Factory moved to our new home at The Docks, just north of Downtown Houston.

Our 2018 Season at The Factory began with a intimate production of William Finn's musical, A NEW BRAIN, followed by high octane tribute concert to the one and only Britney Spears; IT'S BRITNEY B*TCH! Taking on a more serious tone, Spring 2018 welcomed an epic production of THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME, performed for the very first time in Houston by professional performers. Returning for its second annual production, HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH swept onto The Factory stage to uproarious audiences. Lauded by audiences as our "most hilarious work yet," Art Factory most recently produced THE 25th ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE.

Continuing 2018 with even more show stopping presentations, Art Factory will produce four musicals and five concerts with their unique, artistic flair! Additionally, exciting announcements surrounding incredible new developments in staff and a brand new series that promises surprising new experiences for Houston audiences will be announced throughout the remainder of the 2018 Season!

2018 MUSICALS

DISENCHANTED

July 27th through August 12

After taking Off-Broadway by storm, Art Factory is elated to present the Houston Premiere of DISENCHANTED!, this summer! Leave the kids with their fairy godmother, polish up those glass slippers, and join the "fairest of them all" for a raucous, raunchy, girl-power musical comedy like no other! DISENCHANTED flips fairytales the bird, July 27 through August 12 with Friday and Saturday performances at 8:00 p.m. and Sundays at 5:00 p.m.

HEATHERS THE MUSICAL

September 7th through September 23rd

For the first time in the city of Houston, HEATHERS THE MUSICAL is performed with its completely revamped script and score that is an epic "candy store" of dark humor, ass-kicking songs and 80's nostalgia! Break out your scrunchies and parachute pants, because Art Factory invites you to be seventeen again with HEATHERS THE MUSICAL! HEATHERS THE MUSICAL gets Houston partying like its 1989, September 7 through 23 with Friday and Saturday performances at 8:00 p.m. and Sundays at 5:00 p.m.

THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW

October 19th through October 31st

Art Factory, lets loose on their innovative, new production of Richard O'Brien'S THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW. Hike up those fishnets and strap on those stilettos for this raunchy ride through sexual awakening! Art Factory encourages costumes and call-outs at their 8:00 p.m. and midnight performances, making this production a fully immersive and high-octane night of zany, sexy fun! THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW will have you doing the "Time Warp" again, October 19 through 31 with Friday and Saturdayperformances at 8:00 p.m. and Sundays at 7:00 p.m. as well as midnight performances on Fridays and Saturdays. The closing performance will be held on Halloween, Wednesday, October 31, at 8:00 p.m.

Lastly, Art Factory is elated to present a soon-to-be-announced musical that simply must be seen to be believed, November 30 through December 16!

CONCERT SERIES

Presented three-nights-only throughout the year, Art Factory invites you to a live music experience like no other! These explosive concerts are presented in two forty-five minute acts, packed wall-to-wall with songs performed by entirely local casts of Houston's finest singers.

NOW (THAT'S WHAT I CALL BROADWAY) 72

June 29th through July 1st

Landing in Houston just after the 72nd Annual Tony Awards, let NOW THAT'S WHAT I CALL BROADWAY! 72 transport you to Forty-Second Street with a celebration of currently running Broadway musicals! Our entirely local cast of vocalists give you a taste of the Great White Way with songs from the best new shows as well as long-running Broadway favorites. Art Factory's NOW THAT'S WHAT I CALL BROADWAY! 72 runs June 29 and 30 and July 1 with performances on Friday and Saturday at 8pm, and Sunday at 5pm.

GLAM ROCK

July 13 through July 15th

Get ready to rock! Blowing the roof off Art Factory, this incredible concert pays tribute to two of the greatest rock singers in history, Freddie Mercury and David Bowie. This epic event is jam-packed full of insanely talented local vocalists, belting beyond the stratosphere! Art Factory's GLAM ROCK runs July 13 through 15 with performances on Friday and Saturday at 8pm, and Sunday at 5pm.

BOY BANDZ

August 24th through August 26th

Featuring all of your favorites from groups like N*Sync, the Backstreet Boys, Hanson, the Jackson 5, The Beach Boys, 98 Degrees, Boyz2Men, the Beatles, One Direction and more, BOY BANDZ is a nostalgic evening of live music that will have you dancing in the aisles! Art Factory's BOY BANDZ runs August 24 through 26 with performances on Fridayand Saturday at 8pm, and Sunday at 5pm.

AFTERLIFE

October 5th through October 7th

Paying homage to the genius of dear departed musical icons, AFTERLIFE gives you a chance to relive their greatest hits as if they were still with us. The stunning cast of Houston-local vocalists will blow you away with renditions of songs by Whitney Houston, Amy Winehouse, Prince, Freddie Mercury, Judy Garland, Janis Joplin, Frank Sinatra, Michael Jackson and more! Art Factory's AFTERLIFE runs October 5 through 7 with performances on Friday and Saturday at 8pm, and Sunday at 5pm.

EMOTIONS: A Very Mariah Christmas

November 23rd through November 25th

Get in the holiday spirit with this salute to the Queen of Christmas, Mariah Carey! Our incomparable cast of local vocalists will knock your socks off with amazing renditions of your favorite Mariah and holiday hits! Art Factory's EMOTIONS: A Very Mariah Christmas runs November 23 though 25 with performances on Friday and Saturday at 8pm, and Sunday at 5pm.
