Applause Theatre camps will be run a bit different this year. In the past, our camps have all been half-day, featuring a different musical each week. The problem with doing this, is that not all musicals appeal to all kids, and the casting requirements for each show vary greatly. There aren't always the right amount of students, or the correct number of boys or number of girls to produce a specific show. To alleviate these issues, this year there will be a change to the formatting. Instead of a specific show performed each week, this year, the camp directors will be putting together a different review of musical theater classics each week to showcase the talents of the young actors. In doing this, there will be a better target to the growth areas that each child needs to focus on and use music that will teach them and entertain the audience. The materials used each week will be different, because many of the Applause students attend multiple sessions during the summer.

There will also be added full-day sessions each week. This session is targeting those students who have attended Applause camps before or participated in other theatrical productions. It is intended to be a bit more advanced and dig deeper into the production process.

Tuition costs have dropped dramatically. Last year, the half-day sessions were $215 and this year, they are $150. The full day sessions this year, are the price of last year's half-day, $215. This is done in an effort to make the programs affordable for as many families as possible.

Applause offers small class sizes which are capped at 15 students per session (with the exception of the teen/tween musical).  The instructors are all professional musicians, actors and dancers who either hold degrees in musical theater or are pursuing their degree in such.

A production is held at the end of each week, to show family and friends what the students have learned. This production is in our main theater, which is a real theater with a true stage, theatrical lighting, permanent theater seats for the audience and castb dressing rooms.

Applause has been in business for 16 years doing summer camps and classes and has a following of people who come back again and again because of the terrific opportunity it provides for their children.

Enrollment has only been open for a short time and camps are filling up rapidly. Sign up early to ensure your spot this summer.
